As per SERB rule
55% (or CGPA 6 in a 10 point scale) in M.Sc/M.S/B.S-M.S or equivalent in Physics or Astrophysics Desirable: A) The applicant has to qualify either of the National Eligibility Test (JRF/LS), Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) or any equivalent test that qualifies as the “National Eligibility Test” as per SERB regulations. B) The candidate has taken at least one basic astrophysics course in his/her B.Sc or M.Sc curriculum or has worked/has been working in an astrophysics/cosmology-related research project and has experience with Linux administration and handling of large datasets. Knowledge of C and IDL/Python programming is highly desirable. C) Good oral and written communication skills in English.
