Agri-Biotechnology: Thrust areas include: Identification and characterization of promoters for starch quality in wheat. Improving nutritional and processing quality of the wheat. Transcriptional biology of Adipogenesis. Utilizing genome editing tools in wheat for trait development. Targeting ODAP content in Lathyrus spp. by utilizing genomic approaches. Food and Nutrition Biotechnology: Thrust areas include: Nutraceuticals for improving health. Microbes for production of nutraceuticals. Development of biopolymer based biodegradable food coating materials.
