Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) invites applications for recruitment of Project Scientist-B in Pune. Last date for application is 31st March 2016.
Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400/- + D.A. + H.R.A. (Total monthly salary is approximately Rs.52,290/-)
A First class M.Tech/ M.Sc. or equivalent in Atmospheric Science/ Meteorology/ Oceanography/ Physics/Geophysics from a recognized University/ Institution. A minimum of 03 years of experience of research (after Master’s degree) in Atmospheric or Oceanic Science or allied fields. Post qualification working experience in High Performance Computing Systems, technologies and its related software's/ applications. Desirable Qualification: Ph.D. in Atmospheric Modelling would be a desirable qualification. Working knowledge of Atmospheric high-resolution models porting, installation and troubleshooting of dynamical models. Experience in using Programming languages (like FORTRAN-90, C/C++ etc.), Shell scripting Meteorological data analysis tools (like GrADS, FERRET, NCL, NCO, CDO etc.) Handling of the large volume of data and conversant with data format like NetCDF, HDF, GRIB etc. Knowledge of UNIX/LINUX System Administration would be an added advantage
