The applicant should hold a Ph.D. in Geology or a related subject (e.g. Geological Sciences, Earth Sciences, Geochronology) - completed within the last five years - and have a strong training and suitable experience in geological field and lab methods, with a thrust in Quaternary geology. The candidate must be able to carry out extensive geological field surveys, stratigraphic documentation and one or more types of geological laboratory analyses such as petrography, geochemistry, sedimentology, fossil analyses, stable isotopes or various relative and absolute dating methods etc. Basic computer skills (e.g. GIS, geological mapping, remote sensing) and proficiency in English are desirable, along with willingness to work hard and show intellectual enthusiasm.
